A Taste of Urban Fantasy

Currently, I’ve finished the first draft of my metaphysical book for this year and am letting it rest a bit, before I dive into the first edit.

While it’s resting, I’m working/playing hard on putting my first urban fantasy novel into shape to publish.

For those of you who like such things, here’s the synopsis…

“We believe that we live in a perfectly mundane and understandable world, where everything “makes sense” and can be explained by Science and logic and cold, hard facts. It is all as plain, and immutable, and rational as electric lights, and “stimulus–response”, and income tax.     .

But that’s not how it really is…

Magick is here with us. Magick lies all around us, concealed from us by our inability or unwillingness to see it. The magickal world lies close next to our world, like two pages in a single book –and when someone turns a page to see what happens next in the story, interesting things can happen…

The day that Shannon lost her job, she knew that change was coming. She broke her lease, threw everything that she valued in life (including her cat, Sam) in her van, kissed her adoptive parents and her little brother good bye and started a cross-country trek.

She knew that change was coming. She expected that.

            What she wasn’t expecting was elves… ”

And more is in the works…
