On Writing Every Day…Except…

Part of the responsibility of being a writer is to keep writing on a regular basis. Some resources indeed say that, to be a real writer, you should write every day.

Well, that’s a great concept, but, as humans, we’re all imperfect and, for most of us, some days are just better than others.

For me, the last week in August, I wrote on my current book like a fiend and got a lot of work done. The first week in September, on the other hand….

Life. In plentitude…

As a writer, that’s one reason you need to have your deadlines held firmly in mind, and why it’s good to make progress and get ahead of your deadlines when you can. That gives you the leeway to do other things when the unexpected pops its head up.

This week, I’m back at the keys and making those pages fly. And we’ll be writing and rolling once more.

Do you have a strategy for keeping your writing a regular part of your life?
