Take a Break (Writing Quick Tip)

Some days the words just won’t come.

Some days you just stare at a screen as blank as your mind is.

Some days writing is like pulling teeth

and one way to address that is by taking a  break…

Writing can be hard. Don’t let that challenge cause you to create excuse after excuse for why you “just can’t write now but will write in the future.”

Instead, take a kitchen timer and set it for 15 minutes. Then go and do something different. Really different, if need be.

  • Dance
  • Take a walk outside.
  • See if there’s something yummy in the fridge

Clear all thought of writing from your mind. Really get into what you’re doing now

And when the timer rings, end what you’re doing and go back and write. Write badly if you must, but write.

That change of focus is often all you need to shake loose whatever’s blocking you.

So, take a break and then write!!!
