Games Writers Play- Write TV Scripts

Ever watch a TV show and say “I could write better than that?”

Well, why not do it?

Settle yourself in front of the TV with the remote, some snacks and your writer’s cap firmly in place. Set yourself up to watch some TV shows (fiction is better for this) and see if you can rewrite as you go to make the story more fun/interesting/surprising/far out/fill in your favorite extreme quality here. Make the  story better or wilder, while still doing the best you can to make a more interesting story that’s still believable and true to the mileau and characters involved.

For bonus style points, try playing this with a friend who also writes. The winner is the one who can devise the farthest out story that still works. When in doubt, have the results judged by a neutral third party such as your little brother, the pizza delivery guy or your cat.

And have fun with it. Fun builds creativity
