What Would You Do…? (Dream Big…)

Currently really enjoying a book called “The International Bank of Bob” the story of one man’s experiences with KIVA, an organization that arranges micro-loans to help people lift themselves out of poverty around the world.

One thing that he said that struck me is that one problem is getting people to see beyond their immediate situation and the challenges it poses. Not so much encouraging people to have a long range plan (KIVA candidates are good a long range plans) but rather to encourage them to dream big enough.

Now that’s an interesting thought

We’re moving towards the end of  the holiday season and soon we will be in the time of new year’s resolutions and of thinking about what we want to do with the shiny new year ahead.

Are we dreaming big enough, though? Resolutions give us a road map for our life’s journey, and goals can give us something to shoot for, but sometimes its important to make sure that our dreams are big enough. Big dreams make us reach further, try harder, and even if we do not always achieve everything we set out to, big dreams can move us further in the direction of our life’s mission.

So please stop a moment and think

  • What do you want to do with your life?
  • What would you like to accomplish in 2014 as part of that?
  • And, are you dreaming big enough?

Good things are coming…
