Typing Along on This Year’s Book…

… and finding the experience rather interesting.

As I noted in a previous post (“…an Idea Emerges From the Mist…”) I usually start out the year with a topic for the book I’m going to write- but 2014 has been a more nebulous year and I’ve been playing with a number of good ideas that just didn’t quite “click”.

It was only recently that an idea that resonated came tiptoeing into my consciousness, and, given this years’ series of false starts, I’ve been cautious

So I’ve been working along on this idea…and we seem to actually be going someplace.

The writing experience is very different than my usual. As per my standard procedure, I’ve started with a rough outline, including as many points as I can think of that I want to get in. (More always come up as I go along)

This time, I’m finding that the flow of info is shifting as I go along. That there are sections that need to be moved to a different order to make sense. That there are things that need to be expanded, and others that need to be folded into each other.

Very different- but kinda cool. I’m learning something new.

And, bit by bit, a book is beginning to appear…

So, how’s your writing going?
