Camp NaNoWriMo Is Over….

… so how did you do?

Do you have a 50 K rough draft story? Something longer? Something shorter, but still more than you knew you could do?

No matter what you’ve accomplished, congratulations.

Despite the emphasis on numbers, NaNo is really not about word count. It’s about trying something new, trying something that you didn’t know was possible, about stretching your boundaries and about learning that you are far more amazing than you ever realized you were.

so whatever you’ve done, congratulations. It’s more than you would have accomplished if you’d never tried at all, and it could just be the beginning of bigger adventures.

So, what do you do now?

Some of you may be hungry to keep writing. If so, by all means- spend quality times with your story.

Some of you may feel like you’ve run a marathon. It’s fine to put your story aside for a bit and catch up on all of the things you missed in July.

and some of you may need to take your story and look at it from all sides, to see where it needs lengthening, strengthening or polishing. That’s good too

Just remember that you are now officially a writer- and what a writer does is write!
