Know The Schedule (Writing Quick Tip)

Want to get some writing done but somehow life keeps getting in the way?

Then Stop. and take a good long look at the schedule your household runs on.

Not just the official schedule, but also the natural patterns of activity of the folks that you share your space or your life with.

  • When will your kids come asking for a snack?
  • When is your best friend likely to call for a nice long chat?
  • When is your partner likely to want to talk over the day or make plans for the week?

People are like the ocean. We all have ebbs and flows in our activity- times when we want to interact with each other and times when we are self sufficient. If you stop and look at these human tides, you’ll be able to get a better idea of when your attention will be in demand and when you’re more likely to be able to focus on solitary pursuits.

And that’s a great time to write…
