Writing at Arisia

Arisia is a science fiction/ fantasy/fandom conference held in Boston and is chock full of good things. Last weekend the hubby and I went to Arisia for the weekend. It was still full of good things, but I noticed that, while I’m usually running nonstop morning to night there, this time there were not quite a many things that interested me as there have been in previous years

So I planned to go and immerse myself in panels and movies and hands with laptop typing in nightother writery things that appealed to me, and to bring my netbook so I could go up to the hotel room in the intervals and work on some of my manuscripts in process

And, wow, that really worked well for me

I’d go to a couple of writer panels and then go do some editing. I’d watch a great movie and then have a  breakthru on a plot point I’d been stuck on

By marinating myself in a culture of writers and storytelling, this weekend I got my initial edit done on my renaissance faire book, titled all of it’s chapters, broke through three  blockages in the plot of my second urban fantasy and started working on the manuscript for the book about the power of stories

I’ll have to remember how well this worked

So how was your weekend?
