… well, not really. But I was away for the weekend at the Wicked Winter Renaissance Faire, and, while I was there, I had the wonderful experience of getting to teach three classes, two of which were on topics that I’ve written books about.
Squeee! I actually had full houses in large class rooms, and ran out of hand outs (I come prepared so I rarely run out.) People were excited and engaged and asking the kinds of questions that let me know that I was doing my job teaching and that they were getting things out of what I had to share with them.
If you love teaching, this was the kind of teaching experience that you want. I almost sprained a face muscle from smiling so much…
I love teaching and sharing information in other ways, so this was delightful enough, but to pile delight upon delight, many of the folks who took the classes followed me back to the booth afterwards to get readings or to buy my books. I sold out of “The Practical Empath”, all but one copy of “Adventures in Palmistry” and lots of copies of my other books too.
So, if you write, I thought I’d ask you, do you offer talks as well? It’s a great way to connect with readers and give them a taste of what you’re all about, as well as publicize your books and sell them….
And it’s so much fun…
