Read Ahead (Writing Quick Tip)

Have you written yourself into a corner? Have no idea where your book is going next?

Try this visualization technique.54f6a620-f2d8-4bdc-ad37-a97aa1a18800

Find a quiet time when you will not be interrupted. Turn off the phone. Now get comfortable and close your eyes.

Picture yourself sitting with a book in your hands. Your book,  when it’s finished in the future. You have traveled forwards in time to get a better look at the finished book.

Now picture yourself opening the book to a place that you have bookmarked- the place where you got stuck for awhile in the past before sorting out your story.

Look at the page. What does it say? How did you solve your block?

That may  sound silly, but it’s one great way to access your creativity and break through writer’s block. Try it the next time that you feel stuck….
